Corvias Makes Contributions to Military-Related Charities on Behalf of Residents

East Greenwich, RI (September 3, 2020) - Corvias, a long-term solutions and management partner to the U.S. military, municipalities and colleges and universities, recently donated to three military-related charities as part of its Ready, Set, Gold! program.

Ready, Set, Gold! is a program that provides free entertainment, enrichment and contest opportunities for Corvias Property Management residents who are social distancing or adhering to stay-at-home orders.

“While our residents are unable to be in person or gather as groups, we have found creative ways to foster a sense of connectivity and community,” said Corvias Property Management Managing Director, Tim Toohey. “Our contests allow our winning residents to have a way of helping others by naming a charity that we will donate to in their name. This extends the positive difference we hope to make in our residents’ lives and increases the good work that together we can do in the community.”

The inaugural contest was a “Lip Sync Challenge” in which residents submitted videos of themselves dressed up and dancing to their favorite songs.

The top-five winners are:

  1. TSgt Omar Mangome and family, Fort Bragg
  2. SFC Edmundo Luna and family, Fort Bragg
  3. SSG Nomar Pagani-Otero and family, Eglin Air Force Base
  4. TSgt Christopher Whitaker and family, Edwards Air Force Base
  5. TSgt Mark Godfrey and family, Hurlburt Field

These winning residents selected the following charities to receive a donation in their name:

  • Operation Homefront ,which works to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.

  • Military Child Education Coalition(MCEC), whose mission is to ensure every military-connected child is college, workforce, and life-ready.

  • United Service Organizations (USO) that endeavors to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.

“At Corvias, one of our core principals is giving back to the communities in which we live and work and it is something the entire Corvias team is very passionate about,” said Christina Chase, community voice. “The organizations chosen by our residents each share a purpose to support our service members and their families. We are grateful we can contribute to these charities that work tirelessly to assist this deserving and inspirational population.”

Of the three organizations selected, Operation Homefront will receive a total of $750, and the USO and MCEC will each receive $250. Corvias is proud to support and give back to the communities in which it serves. In 2019 alone, the company donated more than $200,000 to worthy causes while Corvias team members volunteered a total of 400 hours at various charitable organizations.
