Award by USPTO Validates Unique Value Proposition of Corvias
Warwick, RI (July 16, 2024)—The Corvias “Solutions Through Partnerships®” trademark has been found by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to point uniquely to Corvias as a fully integrated solution provider of financing, development, construction and operations management in the military and higher education spaces.
Assessing the unique capability of Corvias to provide “Solutions Through Partnerships®,” the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) granted Corvias federal registration, which provides exclusive use of the trademark in connection with military and higher education housing industries.
Supported by an award-winning Quality Assurance/Quality Control program that provides a comprehensive framework for enhancing living conditions and improving resident satisfaction, Corvias earned the trademark for Solutions Through Partnerships®. The USPTO found that the trademark is inherently distinctive, meaning it represents what sets a company apart from its competitors and is not merely descriptive of the general category of goods or services provided.
“Innovation and partnership are central to Corvias, a name that means ‘from the heart.’ From day one—more than 20 years ago—we set out to serve those who serve in a capacity that solves their current and future needs,” said Chris Wilson, CEO of Corvias. “Our ‘Solutions Through Partnerships®’ trademark exemplifies our approach to partnering with like-minded organizations to provide innovative solutions for energy, resiliency and indoor environmental challenges.”
Over the past 22 years, Corvias has successfully raised well over $3 billion of private capital that has been invested in more than 30 public-private partnerships across military and higher education related housing and energy resiliency projects.
The data supports Corvias’ leadership position. In direct alignment with the Department of Defense’s Strategy for Resilient and Healthy Defense Communities, Corvias’ Solutions Through Partnerships® has numerous proof points on supporting readiness, resiliency, and retention, including:
Military Housing Sustainability: Corvias operates privatized housing at seven military installations across the U.S.
- Major renovations and projects took place across all seven installations.
- A 4-year contract totaled more than $325 million in community investments.
- Corvias unveiled 70 additional homes at Fort Johnson and Fort Riley.
- Corvias received an 87% resident approval rating across all properties.
- Corvias properties averaged a 95% occupancy.
Energy Resiliency: Corvias maintains its commitment to creating energy resiliency through groundbreaking solutions and partnerships.
- Corvias invested more than $150 million in energy efficiency projects. These projects include ground source heat pumps, lighting and water conservation projects, and energy management systems.
- A $325 million Solutions Investment pilot program at Fort Meade included over 142,000 energy-efficiency upgrades.
- In support of the U.S. Army’s 100% renewable energy goal, Corvias completed one of the largest solar projects in the history of Kansas at Fort Riley.
Wellness Residential Program: Corvias recently became the first military housing partner to join a certification program for healthy homes in partnership with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI.) Corvias is pioneering a prototype program known as Wellness at Home, a program focused on supporting and improving the well-being, performance, and resilience of the soldiers and families at Corvias’ residences. This program focuses on improving indoor air, water, and light quality to meet the high standards required for receiving a WELL certification. Corvias is the largest participant in IWBI’s WELL for Residential Program, with over 22,000 residences across its seven military installations. Initial feedback includes:
- 82% increase in residents’ satisfaction with on-post housing.
- 93% increase in satisfaction with water quality.
- 88% increased interest in other wellness products to enhance their living experience.
Giving Back: Corvias prioritizes equitable community engagement and collaborates closely with residents, local stakeholders, and partners to create safe, vibrant, and sustainable communities:
- Corvias employees and leadership volunteered 800 hours and donated more than $34,500 to non-profit organizations.
- Corvias partnered with Wayne State University to continue the Wayne State Corvias Endowed Scholarship with two additional recipients for 2023-2024.
- The Corvias Foundation continued increasing access to educational opportunities by awarding scholarships to 24 spouses of active-duty military members in partnership with the National Military Family Association.
Corvias CEO Chris Wilson said, “The registered trademark signifies Corvias’ unique commitment to data-driven solutions that bring added value to our customers. This significant milestone for Corvias is proof of what our team members do each day for partners like the U.S. Army. Their goals are our goals. This distinctive approach sets Corvias apart from other organizations that do business with government and institutions.”
