Charlese Griffin was recently promoted to Assistant Resident Manager for Corvias Property Management at Fort Sill. Charlese has been a vital part of the Corvias team since September 2008 as a Resident Service Specialist at Fort Sill, OK. She then spent four years at Fort Meade, MD, filling the Leasing Consultant and Resident Associate roles before returning to Fort Sill, OK, in June 2014.
We recently caught up with Charlese to learn about what residents can expect.
Question: What do you love about your new job?
Charlese: The role is exciting and challenging at the same time. I’m always striving to do more for our residents, and this role provides so many opportunities for me to assist them every single day. It always makes me feel good to strengthen my skills and actively communicate with managers, staff, and residents, ensuring everyone is on the same page and satisfied.
Question: How do you assist residents in your new role?
Charlese: As issues arise, I lend an active listening ear to ease concerns and navigate a positive resident experience. On a personal note, I pride myself on passion, perseverance, and dedication, and I bring the spirit of those qualities to my work with the residents of Fort Sill and my Corvias teammates.
Question: What do you look forward to about coming to work every day?
Charlese: My daily duties can change from one day to another day so every day it’s a bit of an adventure. I look forward to that because I thrive under pressure and love our fast-paced work environment. We often kid around in the office that we don’t know if we work better under pressure or if we only work under pressure!
Question: It sounds like you’re really committed to your job. What do you enjoy outside of work?
Charlese: After a long day, I am tired and it would be easy to just go home and do nothing. But in the words of the American beat poet and musician Tuli Kupferberg, “when patterns are broken, new worlds emerge.” So, I force myself to go to the gym. I feel absolutely great as soon as I start to exercise. My favorites are HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), step class and strength training – always an amazing feeling afterward!
